I did a bit of shopping...

...so thought I'd share.

I got this post up a bit later as I wanted to try out the products and it's a been two trips across to Edinburgh, so it's more of a collective haul. My dad came to visit me; so we took a trip across for a day out, he knows me too well! If I find any of the stuff I bought, online, click on the picture and it should send you to the site :)

I first hit up Lush to get myself a new shampoo, having a sensitive scalp, Lush has always been my hero by keeping my hair clean and grease at bay (gross but true!)

I’ve tried a few of their shampoo bars but I always go back to the Seanik (Sorry I don’t have a photo, I forgot to take one before I started using it! My bad…)

Screenshot from the lush website

The great thing about their shampoo bars is when I travel I don’t really need to worry about the liquid aspect of it going everywhere as well as the 100ml aspect too. What I like the most about this particular bar is that it keeps my hair clean, shiny and bouncy for at least 3days! It’s honestly amazing, all you greasy scalp people you need to pick this beauty up!

I also got the Superbalm, which is a scalp treatment that is suppose to help keep a healthier scalp, which I have to say I need help with. I’ve been having trouble with hair fall lately; I needed a natural way to get rid of the gunk that’s stopping the nutrients get into my hair roots back to it’s thick wavy self.

I used it for a good 2 weeks along with the shampoo bar and my hair fall hasn’t minimised drastically but it has defiantly gotten better; but I have noticed a big difference, in that my hair has defiantly gotten a lot thicker and fuller looking which is great.

I generally have quite dry lips, which can be a horror during colder days, so I like having a lip scrub at bay. I do like making my own, but I thought I’d treat myself to one. After having a sniff of the 3 to pick from, popcorn defiantly smelt to my taste, and might I add it does taste delicious! It does what it’s supposed to do and I couldn’t be more pleased with it, worth a try.

I like going to the Boots in Edinburgh as you can get the higher end products in there too, so I thought I’d treat myself at the Benefit counter.

I got myself the very hyped Hoola bronzer. I can understand why it’s so loved, I’m already naturally quite tanned, but I get quite a pale face when I’ve not had the sun in a while so this has helped a lot with giving me a bit of a glow.

I’m not much of a blush girl but the lady at the counter totally sold me on Rockateur. It’s got some shimmer with a slight, I’d say baby pink colour, which I quite like as it gives a bit of a highlight on my cheek bones and gives me quite a natural, subtle glow. I’ll defiantly get a lot of use out of this one!

We hit up urban outfitters as the sales there are seriously too good, (even dad got a few things for himself! (from the men's section of course))

I saw this beauty hanging up and just knew I’d love it even more when I tried it on, the detail long the cuts of lace just gave it this edge from the floral pattern all over the skirt, and being a shorty the length and fit was perfect, added bonus!

These shoes had been hiding under the racks, it was defiantly love at first sight even my dad was like, “you got to get them!” I can honestly say they are super comfortable, I wore them for a whole day walking about, totally worth it! *plus I got them for £50, extra bonus!*

Now this is actually something I actually was looking for, I wanted to get something to put under my baggy or see-through tops making it look more ‘elegant’.
They only had the blue/purple colour in stock

I just loved the lase and how simple it was, I thought it would go with the majority of my tops/dresses.

Of course I have to hit up Topshop, first place I head, the sales rack.
I couldn't find this one online

My dad actually spotted these; he is quite good with spotting things and defiantly knows a
thing or two about what I like to wear; which still amazes me. They were part of the vintage part that some Topshop’s have, which is probably why I had never seen, shorts like them.

While looking through the petite section I saw this adorable top, as I love crop tops and I was completely sold due to the cute pom-pom detailing along the top; what can I say, I’m easily pleased; and At £7 you can’t go wrong!

Couldn't find the exact piece but I found one close.

Last but not least I headed to H&M but nothing from the ladies section seem to attract me, so I decided to look through the guys sale section and found this adorable pug jumper but they were all far too large for me to even get away with it; then I came across this; I thought I could style it with leggings or even shorts. You can never have too much Disney related clothes...

They didn't have this online.

"Stuck In The Mud"

Yes I know it's been a while. I think I say that every time I write a post; But really I have been busy and pretty much stuck in the mud... don't worry... not literally. As some of you may or may not know I graduated from High School last year, probably one of the happiest and saddest moment in my life. I left behind my friends and also my parents, but not to go to school again but to pretty much find myself. I know it sounds spiritual and a little silly to some people, but growing up I always knew what I wanted to; it might’ve changed 4-5 times but I always had that sense of who I wanted to be when a family member or friend asked. Saying that I was never really that academic so when it came to actually choosing a subject that’s when I went point blank.

I’m not sure of I said it before but I'm what you call a TCK, Third Culture Kid, which means I pretty much lived and grew up in a country that's not my own; also on top of that my parents are from two completely different cultures themselves. I see myself as a city girl, so when I packed up and moved in with my family in the countryside part of Scotland, I didn’t know what to expect; you could say I have a love/hate relationship with it and I stick out like a sore thumb.

It’s coming up to exactly a year on to when I first left school and seeing the friends from the year below me finished with exams and excited to leave school and the ones in university that have finished their first year; it makes it so surreal that I still am stuck in the same place; hence the “stuck in the mud” analogy. Now I skype my parents every week, and honestly one day I just broke down. Not because I was sad but because I was angry. I think the bottled up emotions of not knowing what to do with myself had over come me and I finally needed to express that. Now after all the blubbering, my dad said write a list of all the things you love, and wish you could do; and I did what he said. Honestly it made me feel so much better, because now I have a bucket list of things that I can work towards. One of them being writing and taking my photography a little more seriously.

So I don’t know if you’re in the same situation as me; and if you are, I truly hope it gets better for both of us, because right now I’m working a simple job to save up money so I can do the things that I love (and lets be honest with a little help from my parents too). I’m not saying that school is bad; it’s just not for me, well right at this moment. I might not be in the job or place that I ever thought i'd be in but honestly I have never felt so healthy and stress-free with my life and I hope by the end of the year I’ll look back and know I achieved half or maybe just one of my goals on my list.

I was a bit skeptical if I wanted to post this but I started this blog to share my experiences with you. I hope all is well and you have an amazing day and congrats if you got to the end of this post :3
Thanks so much for reading and please share your thoughts I'd love to hear them!

Ttyl,
Heather

Surfers Paradise

G'Day Mate!
I've been a bit behind on videos due to many reasons, one being moving back to Scotland (which I might talk about more in another post;) This means I can spend more time blabbing on my blog.

In January, my parents and I went to Gold Coast in Australia for the first time. This was a pretty special trip for me as it had been 12 years since I had been back, as I was in Perth the first trip; Secondly, since I was about 8 it had always been my dream to come here (maybe due to the reason I wanted to go to Movie World) there was never really a main reason but I had always bugged my parents about it. So I felt like my 8 year old self again when we landed down under.

(I tried to remind myself throughout the whole trip to take photos of everything, especially everywhere I went to eat, as I loved all the food there (big Italian community); but it was mostly me eating the beautifully prepared food then realising my fails)

The amazing sunrise outside my window

We got to the hotel first thing in the morning so I had some time to myself with this amazing view
(I finished fault in our stars, can't wait for the movie so I can review both!)

Smarties Cookie

Passionfruit Ice Tea

We did try and find dolphins but none popped up,
I loved doing this half day boat trip as we met a lovely filipino couple,
which meant a lot of chatting and photos. We also had lunch on the boat, fresh prawns, salad and chicken; i'm going to sound like a broken record, but all the food throughout the whole trip was delicious.

Did a bit of snorkelling, we got to feed the fish some bread, pretty exciting

The amazing sunset on the way back to the dock

(Dreamworld)
Mr Joey, totally cheesing

Little dance parade, scoobydoo and gang^, Tweetybird v (fangirl'd a little)
We ventured to Movie World, Dreamworld and
Wet and Wild (which I didn't take any photos due to crazy weather :/)
OOTD + The Mad Crew - Top - Vintage Giordano, High-Waisted shorts - Topshop,
Shoes - Nike Free Run 5.0, Hat (bought the day before) - Oakley

(Dreamworld)
BuzzSaw, felt a bit loopy after this one
(Dreamworld)
Probably the scariest but shortest ride I've ever been on,
all i'll say it's indoor for a few seconds...

(Movie World)
Arkham Asylum, From Batman, Dad and I were at the front for this one, Brilliant!

Hollywood Stunt Show with cars and motorbikes, seriously some talented blokes!

The Tiger Show,
You could see how taken care of these animals were,
the relationship between trainer and tiger was truly an amazing experience and really worth watching.

The last time I was in Australia I was still 6 so I was still to young to hold a Koala,
so I did the touristy thing and did it thing time around

After a long day we just had a nice buffet at the hotel, it was seafood night,
but honestly the dessert table was truly scrumptious, 8 different types of ice cream and array of toppings; I had a definite food baby...

The last day we had a relaxed one,
I tanning day (to cover up the horrid tan-lines that I have been sporting.)
We went to the night market by the beach,
which I highly recommend as there is seriously everything there, they had a lot of home made food and home grown fruits which mum and I defiantly bought half of the shops!

Panoramas of Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast and below of the man-made hotel beach.
If you have any questions about the trip or if you're going yourself then I'd love to give you a few tips and places I went!

Hope all is well and ttyl

Catching Fire

Thought I'd do another movie review for you guys again, since I had done one for 'The Hunger Games', I wouldn't be right if I didn't do one for 'Catching Fire'!

If you haven't watched the movie I would suggest not reading on as there are a few spoilers, but I do have to say I recommend the movie it defiantly keeps you on the edge of your seat.

^--- Link to the trailer

Basically the over all round up of this movie is the after math of the last Hunger Games, which then leads to bringing back all the old winners and placing them into an area to fight.
Now as much as I loved the whole move can we skip all of that and start at the end,
that ending.

Now I don't know about you guys but I was defiantly sitting there going... "wait what?" I thought that was it when Katniss broke the area with her arrow skills; but the fact that now we don't know what has happened to Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Plutarch (Philip Seymour Hoffman) was actually helping take down the capital;
to be honest this was a lot for me to take in as well.

Like I had said in my hunger games review, I haven't read the books yet, so this is pretty much me starting with a blank canvas. The start was pretty slow, but it sort of had to be, to show what was happening after the gap that was left off in the last movie. President Snow (Donald Sutherland) pretty much wants Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) gone for good, which leads to the new arena; which was what I was curious about how they were bringing them back, when I had saw the trailer. Each person had a different ability, which made you more concerned for Katniss and Peeta's life.

I have to say the movie pretty much hit it's climax once the area scene had started. Especially when they starting beating up Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), which I flinched and almost started screaming with Katniss; but It was more tongue-in-cheek giggles, when they had the little interviews, such as the 'famous' "elevator scene" and I giggled at the cheeky comment by Peeta about Katniss being pregant, and giving a little cheeky grin to Haymitch (Woody Harrelson).

Yes I love JLaw's face too. I'll take a little moment to gush about how adorable Josh's face is in this scene, gosh.

What I loved so much about the move is there was vast emotions portrayed (yes it's getting deep, better get the snorkels on). There was slight comedy, sadness, happiness, anger, portrayal, redemption...I could go on; but I loved how it was equally shared.

As for the acting, as well as the new comers, I loved it, spot on perfection. My love for Johanna (Jena Malone) is defiantly down to her sass, and I loved it.

Dat wink

I could go on forever rambling about how I shed a tear when Finnick lost his partner and how much the majority of the fandom screams/squeals at Katniss/Peeta's adorableness.

Way too many emotions going on right now, I just can't... the feels.

So on that note I give the movie a good 4 and a half stars, just because it was slightly slow at the beginning and Gale's presence almost annoys me for some reason, there's so much of Peeta, that Gale really isn't given a chance; he's just there.

Hope you liked my 'short and sweet' over all summery/review of the movie, I hadn't done one in a while, so hoped you enjoyed it! Leave your comments I'd love you hear what your thoughts are and if you want me to review another movie for you.

Thanks, till next time
