During a trip to Hong Kong I went to visit my friends over there and we went to watch the amazing spider-man. Before I get into it, I loved Andrew Garfield in Never Let Me Go, I loved the book and the whole cast did an amazing job with that movie so for me to find out he was playing spider-man made me the happiest person ever and he didn't let me down. I prefer him as Peter Parker as he plays the awkward science geek far more better than Tobey. Emma Stone was amazing as usual, she played Gwen perfectly, being Parker's first love you can really see there chemistry together (also supposedly being a real life couple as well!). Rhys Ifans played an amazing villain and was not expecting that to happen, scared the living day lights out of me; especially when Gwen was hiding in the room from the lizard, I think we all jumped with her. For the movie as the whole it was brilliant there was not one part that I wasn't interested in or didn't bore me.
Can't say anything more about it, I have to admit the old spider-man didn't amaze me as much as this one (although I did love Tobey Maguire) I have to say this has been a favorite yet!
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆- 5 stars It was truly amazing and they've picked the best actors yet for this one!
So this movie is not my type, I was dragged to watch it as I hate scary movies, but knowing it was the director of paranormal activity, it kind of gave me hope that it isn't as scary as most movies are, as I could put up with the paranormal franchise.
The whole point of the movie is guy is living in some place in either Ukraine or Russia and his little brother ( who happens to be Jesse McCartney ) comes out with his girlfriend and her best friend. The older brother suggests to go to this place called Chernobyl, might I add is a real place in Ukraine. In 1986 one of the four nuclear reactors had exploded in Chernobyl which let off radio active materials into the atmosphere which affected this whole town and left them to flee their town.
The set must have been film not been filmed there, but the set was amazing comparing it to the real life area (which I might add looks like COD!) The movie wasn't as scary as the trailer makes it but there are some parts the really get you so I give the movie:
☆ ☆ ☆ - 3 Stars for the set and the movie as a whole as you generally feel sorry for these people!
A movie I didn't really hype about but I suggest you go out and watch it as it was still a pretty good film!
